‘A new sport is born’
A new take on zorbing, bubble football quite simply sees players of 11 years and over attempting a game of 5 a-side football while wearing giant inflatable zorb ‘ball’ suits(bumper balls). They have their legs free to kick the ball, but when two players collide they can end up anywhere – upside down, on their side or rolling off across the pitch. We take bubble football to the next level with games such as British bulldogs, Last man standing and of course the rollie pollie race.
The best part is that the bubble football was ‘invented’ as a joke by Henrick Elvestad and Johan Gold, hosts of Norwegian comedy sport show ‘Golden Goal’. They thought it would be fun to try play football whilst wearing a giant inflatable bubble and posted a spoof video on youtube. To their surprise, it caught the fancy of thousands of people and a new game was born.
The rules of the bubble football are almost the same as those of normal football – Both teams strive to score as many goals as they can, except in this case they also try to knock down their opponents. But just being able to balance is a challenge leaving onlookers in stitches, which has led to its wild popularity. Be sure to check out the video below (coming soon) and see if you too catch the ‘bubble football’ fever.
